When you see the date on the calendar and realize that there are less than 30 days left until your game is released on Steam, the feeling is hard to explain. Nerves, excitement, pride… and also a lot of responsibility. On February 13, 2026, Clue: Murder by Death will finally reach players, and this last month is key to giving it the visibility it deserves.
This article isn't so much about theory or general best practices, but about how we are experiencing this final stretch, why we are putting so much emphasis on content, and what we’ve learned while preparing the project's launch.
Getting here is already a victory
Clue: Murder by Death is a narrative mystery adventure set in 1930s England, inside a mansion full of secrets, two-faced characters, and clues that aren't always what they seem. It is a project with great attention to detail at a narrative, artistic, and atmospheric level, and reaching this point is already a source of pride for the entire team.
However, a good game doesn't launch itself. And that's where the last 30 days come into play.
The last 30 days: shifting focus from developers to communicators
For a long time, the focus has been the game: mechanics, narrative, bugs, polishing. But as the launch approaches, you have to switch gears and start thinking like communicators.
Steam doesn't just look at the release day. It looks at what happened before:
How many people have added the game to their wishlist
If there is recent activity on the page
If the game generates real interest before launch
That's why this last month is so important. It’s the time to say clearly: this game exists, it’s coming out soon, and it’s worth following.
Showing the game to the world (and doing it right)
One of the most important things we’ve done in this phase is showing the game as it is, without unnecessary frills.
The trailer
We already have the official trailer available on Steam, and it has been a key piece. The trailer was created by Alba Sunet, with the collaboration of our console publisher, Dolores Entertainment. It has been a very careful work that summarizes the tone, rhythm, and essence of the game, and we are sincerely very proud of the result.
The trailer is often the first real contact someone has with the game, which is why it's so important that it:
Shows real gameplay and/or in-game cinematics
Clearly conveys the genre and atmosphere
Generates curiosity without explaining everything
Screenshots, clips, and constant content
In addition to the trailer, we are sharing screenshots, short clips, and visual content designed for social media. It’s not about posting for the sake of posting, but about:
Showing details of the mansion
Introducing characters
Showing moments of tension and investigation
Reinforcing the mystery atmosphere
Every piece of content is an opportunity for someone to discover Clue: Murder by Death for the first time.
The demo and player trust
Having a demo on Steam (whenever possible) is a very powerful tool. It allows players to try the game, understand its pace, and decide if they connect with the experience. In a narrative mystery game, this is especially important: it’s not just about seeing, but about feeling the game.
The unwritten 30-day rule on Steam
In indie development, people often talk about the well-known “30-day rule” on Steam. It’s not an official rule, but a practical reality:
If you announce and publish the game with too little notice, you lose visibility opportunities.
Having the page public, a visible trailer, and constant activity for at least 30 days helps Steam detect interest and gives the launch more momentum.
Looking toward February 13
We are now in the final stretch. The game is almost ready, the trailer is public, and the focus is on getting the project to as many people as possible.
These last few days are intense, but also very special. Seeing a project that has grown for months (or years) about to be released into the world is a unique feeling.
Thank you to everyone who is following Clue: Murder by Death, adding it to your wishlist, sharing it, or simply showing interest. February 13, 2026, is just around the corner, and we can't wait for you to enter the mansion and discover all its secrets.
